Square Head Nut is a four-sided nut. As compared to standard hex nuts, square nuts provide greater surface in contact with the part being fastened, and therefore provide greater resistance to loosening. In order to avoid damage from its sharp edges and increase the strength of the fastener it is used along with flat washers. The most significant advantage of using Square Weld Nut is that it can be welded into even imperfect and irregular surfaces without losing their balance. It is also known as square projection weld nuts. Its dimension are defined in both metric and imperials sizes with UNC, UNF, UN and ISO metric. Stainless Steel Square Nut is typically mated with square-headed bolts. It is commonly used in furniture as a blind nut, it is also used in rail channels in order to prevent turning of rail when pressure is applied. But the size of a metric square nut is more accurately identified by using diameter, pitch and length dimensions, in millimeters. Its size dimensions used are simply diameter and pitch. Flat square nut is a simple nut stamped from sheet metal in square shape. It is a simply a nut that is stamped from sheet metal. It can be considered a type of speed nut, providing the functions of a nut and a sprung washer in a single element. It also has a degree of friction locking and they are extremely low profile.
