Jack Bolt is hydraulically tightened long studs with incorporated hydraulic connection which holds the upper keep of the main bearing intact. It does not pass through the main bearing keep housing but do hold the keep by utilizing hydraulic tension applied and maintained externally. Jack Bolts are scaled on the top of the upper keep, unlike conventional holding bolt which are set at side of the keep as they are passed through the hole provided on the housing for its stud.
It allows the tie rod to be placed nearer to the crank shaft center line, which eventually decreases the bending stresses of the engine on the cross girder.

Stainless Steel Jack Screws is a type of jack that is operated by turning a lead screw. It is usually used to lift moderately heavy weights, such as vehicles; to raise and lower the horizontal stabilizers of aircraft; and as adjustable supports for heavy loads, such as the foundations of houses. Jacking Screws consists of a heavy-duty vertical screw with a load table mounted on its top, which screws into a threaded hole in a stationary support frame with a wide base resting on the ground. On the head of the screw a rotating collar is there which has holes into which the handle, a metal bar, fits. When the handle is turned clockwise, the screw moves further out of the base by lifting the load resting on the load table. It is usually formed with acme threads in order to support large load forces.
