Hexagon Head Screw ISO 4017 feature a hexagonal head that is utilized during the tightening of the fastener. It is utilized a washer face under the head and a chamfered end. It is commonly used in machine parts, construction, and maintenance repairs. It is manufactured in variety of finishes, sizes, grades, and materials depending on application in which it is to be used. ISO 4017 Hex Head Screwis a six-sided bolt with a trimmed hex head and a washer face on the bearing surface. It should meet the tolerances as described under ASME B18.2.1-1996. It is commonly used in OEM applications where precise tolerances are needed. The most common hex screw specifications are ASTM A449 and SAE J429 Grade-2, SAE J429 Grade-5, and SAE J429 Grade-8. ISO 4017 states the features of hexagon head screws with threads from M1,6 up to and including M64, of product grade A for threads M1,6 to M24 and nominal lengths up to and including 10d or 150 mm, whichever is the shorter, and product grade B for threads over M24 or nominal lengths over 10d or 150 mm, whichever is the shorter. Screw ISO 4017 are often self-threading (also known as self-tapping) where the thread cuts into the material when the screw is turned, creating an internal thread that helps pull fastened materials together and prevent pull-out. It usually has a head on one end that helps it to be turned with a tool. ISO 4017 screw head is usually larger than the body of the screw, which retains the screw from being driven deeper than the length of the screw and to provide a bearing surface.
