DIN 6921 ISO 4162 Hex Flange Bolt are named by the ridge or skirt around the bolt head. A flange bolt is designed to provide the holding power as if a washer was installed, although in some applications they can be employed along with regular bolts paired with washers. It acts as a distributor of the entire clamping load. With their multi-feature function it helps to make jobs easier and faster. ISO 4162 Flange Bolts are regular hex head bolts with built-in washer and externally threaded body. It comes with plain or serrated flange configuration. ... ISO 4162 class 8.8 Flange Head Bolt has been developed to eliminate the deficiencies that have been found with the use of washers.  There are several reasons as to why flanged nuts and bolts are preferred over standard hexagon fasteners used with washers. ISO 4162 DIN 6921 12 Point Bolt Head are used for a little higher clamp load. It would be seen in the oil and gas industry because of the recessing head of the bolt. This will not be seen when they're clamping together the end bolts. It is also prevalent in engine applications. ISO 4162 Flanged Hex Head Bolt is large bolts with a six-sided head used to fasten wood to wood, or metal to wood.
