F436 Washer is for hardened washer, intended for general purpose mechanical and structural use. ASTM F436 Washer is a thin plate with a hole. It is a machine component that is used in conjunction with a screw fastener such as a bolt and nut and that usually serves either to keep the screw from loosening or to distribute the load from the nut or bolt head over a larger area. F436 Flat Washer is used to increase the size of a screw's bearing surface area, and reduce the surface pressure applied on the fastened object. Its looseness can result when the bearing surface sinks under the surface pressure, so using this washer can help to reduce the surface pressure is very effective. F436 Bevel Washer are used mainly for faucet seats that are damaged or wore beyond stem travel, therefore the thicker washer makes up the difference. It tries to seal the water flow from the interior opening of the seat, rather than the flat raised edges of the seat. F436 Type 1 Punched Washer is an essential component required under the head of the bolt for distributing the forces that are applied while tightening. It is extensively used with other bolts, in several industrial applications. ASTM F436 Type 1 Split Washer is use friction to prevent bolted joints from loosening. They feature a ring that has been split and twisted which creates two sharp edges. It is fixed between the bolt head and nut and mating surface, the bolted joint is then tightened in the same way as an unsecured bolt is.
